SWITCH ATTACHMENT STRUCTURE FOR STEERING WHEEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch attachment structure for steering wheel capable of stabilizing the attachment state of a lower cover on a core bar by enhancing the rigidity of the lower cover, and preventing the damage to the lower cover caused by external force. SOLUTION: The lower cover 16 attached on a back face of the core bar 18 has an attachment recess 34 in which a switch body 41 of a switch 17 is fitted and stored. The bottom plate 34a and side plates 34b and 34c of the attachment recess 34 are integrally formed with an attachment plate section 31 and an outer circumference wall 33. A first bracket 43 and a second bracket 44 corresponding to a second receiving seat 26 and a third receiving seat 27 of the core bar 18 are integrally formed on the switch body 41. The first and second brackets 43 and 44 are tightly fixed to the second and third receiving seat 26 and 27 by screws 45 and 46. The bottom plate 34a of the attachment recess 34 is clamped between the first socket 25 and the switch body 41, and the lower cover 16 is securely fixed to the core bar 18, thereby enhancing the rigidity of the lower cover 16.
