Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the degrading of sharpness by forming a hard layer where an intermetallic compound on a surface by a plasma ion nitriding method or a diamond-state carbon film on the surface at the surface layer of a cutter made of stainless, titanium, etc. so as to enhance hardness to be equal to that of steel for suppressing abrasion. SOLUTION: In a method for surface treatment of a cutter, the sustained sharpness of the cutter is enhanced from the hardness of a substrate by performing plasma ion nitriding surface treatment to the cutter made of steel or made of a metal substrate for forming the intermetallic compound on the surface by the plasma ion nitriding method. In addition, a diamond-state carbon film is applied for enhancing the sustained sharpness of the cutter.
