DISPLAY APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display apparatus with an inexpensive constitution and excellent convenience wherein a remote control operation is applied to both the front side and the rear side of a display screen. SOLUTION: A flat type display apparatus body 1 has the display screen 2 on the front surface, a first remote control light receiving section 4 is provided at the front surface of the lower side of the display screen, and a second remote control light receiving section 10 is provided at the rear side. Further, a turning base 3 supports the display apparatus body 1 turnably in a horizontal direction. Moreover, a remote control transmitter 8 transmits an infrared ray remote control signal to remote control light receiving sections 4, 10. Then remote control operations are applied to both the front and rear sides to switch the direction of the display apparatus body 1 between the front side and the rear side, so that a user can view an image from the respective places. Further, a sound volume, luminance and a channel or the like are registered and set corresponding to the direction of the display apparatus body 1 to switch the direction and the direction can automatically be switched.
