Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of easily selecting columnar catalysts (1) having a length (L1) not more than a specified length (L0). SOLUTION: In the selection method, a rotatably and approximately horizontally provided rotation drum (2) provided with a recessed part (3) on an inner peripheral surface (21) is rotated and the columnar catalysts (1) having the length (L) not more than the specified length (L0) are scooped by the recessed part (3) and dropped off and collected at a receiving tool (4) installed in the rotation drum (2). The columnar catalysts (1') having the length (L) exceeding the length (L0) fall at a bottom part (22) of the rotation drum (2).
