Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light emitting device, emitting light without a luminance nonuniformity. SOLUTION: The surface light emitting device comprises an orbit light path formed inside for light to orbit, a light guide plate having a diffusion surface formed on the back side, and semiconductor light emitting device arranged outside of the outer periphery of the light guide plate. The back surface of the light guide plate comprises a diffusion surface formed inside, and a reflection surface formed outside. Light entered into the orbit light path is reflected by the reflection surface, an outer periphery surface, and an inner periphery surface and is made to orbit. Accordingly, the light volume in orbiting direction is uniformed and a portion of the orbiting light is made to hit against the diffusion surface, allowing the reflection light to be taken out from the front side.
