SKIN EXTERNAL PREPARATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skin external preparation for reducing skin roughness comprises alum, a calcium salt and a magnesium salt. SOLUTION: The skin external preparation for reducing the skin roughness comprises the alum, calcium salt and magnesium salt. Deterioration of barrier functions in a horny layer is considered as one of the causes of the skin roughness and the recovery of the barrier functions in the horny layer is one of themes for developing the skin external preparation for reducing the skin roughness. The barrier functions in the horny layer are held by SS bonds of keratin. Thereby, the disorder of the bonds and an increase in free SH groups are usually regarded as an index for the deterioration of the barrier functions in the horny layer. As a result, the skin external preparation for reducing the skin roughness comprising the alum, calcium salt and magnesium salt reinforces the SS bonds of the keratin and exhibits excellent improving effects on the barrier functions in the horny layer.
