Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provided a molten siliceous refractory having high corrosion resistance against a molten metal having strong reducing action. SOLUTION: The molten siliceous refractory contains 95-99.9 wt.% molten silica and 0.1-5 wt.% boron nitride. The method of manufacturing the molten siliceous refractory includes a slurry preparing process for preparing slurry containing a raw material solid portion composed of 95-99.9 wt.% molten silica powder and 0.1-5 wt.% boron nitride powder, a molding process for obtaining a molding from the slurry and a firing process for firing the molding at 1,050-1,250°C. In the manufacturing method, it is preferable that the molten silica powder is composed of 50-90 wt.% 1st molten silica powder having 1-10 μm average particle diameter and 10-50 wt.% 2nd molten silica powder having 50-500 μm average particle diameter.
