Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brush unit capable of preventing occurrence of undercommutation. SOLUTION: A brush unit 3 comprises a substantially pyramidal brush 11 having a forward end part being pressed against a commutator 9. Upstream side in the rotational direction of the commutator 9 of the brush 11 is a low resistance part 11a and the downstream side in the rotational direction is a high resistance part 11b. At the forward end part of the high resistance part 11b, a cut part 11c is provided at one end part in the rotational direction of the commutator 9 as a noncontact part with the commutator 9.
