MOBILE OBJECT MONITORING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile object monitoring device which detects a target mobile object without detecting a phenomenon (variation of brightness) caused by objects other than the mobile object, and traces the detected mobile object without missing it. SOLUTION: In the mobile object monitoring device having a camera for photographing an area to be monitored and an information processor for performing information processing for monitoring the mobile object on the basis of images obtained from the camera, the information processor performs: difference processing for generating a frame difference image and a background difference image by applying both of frame difference processing and background difference processing to input images; mobile object detecting processing for detecting an object satisfying a fixed condition and continuously appearing a prescribed number of times or more in a series of frame difference images; and known mobile object tracing processing for tracing, by using the background difference image, a known mobile object detected by the mobile object detecting processing.
