BASE STATION FOR TRANSMITTING PROGRAM MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem where, when an outside broadcast van runs out of a cover area of a base station into a next cover area where only a next base station can receive, in a marathon broadcasting, etc., and the studio side has to switch the base station on a transmission route to the next station after moving to the cover area where reception at this base station becomes stable, resulting in generating discontinuous transmission signals. SOLUTION: Program material transmitting base stations 11-14 for transmitting received signals sent from a news source 10 at a position apart from a studio to the studio comprises: a means for generating quality information showing the quality of the received signals sent from the news source; a means for deciding whether the received signals are to be sent to the studio based on the quality information generated by the quality information generating means; and a means for stopping the transmission of the received signals to the studio if the received signals are not to be transmitted to the studio at the decision result.
