PAPER FEEDING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding device capable of securely separating papers and feeding them even if a tip part of paper is slightly curled and preventing the occurrence of inconvenience such as jamming, empty feeding, and double feeding. SOLUTION: Tip fringes of a plurality of papers P accumulated and stored in a paper feeding cassette 1 are abutted on an inclined wall 2 forming an obtuse angle with a paper P face toward the direction of conveyance of paper P and the papers are separated one by one starting from the paper P at the uppermost position to feed them in this paper feeding device. This device is provided with a curl detection means for detecting a curl condition of the paper P in the paper feeding cassette 1 and a paper feeding condition change means for changing paper feeding conditions in accordance with a curl condition of the paper P detected by the curl detection means. By changing the paper feeding conditions in accordance with the curl condition of the paper P in the paper feeding cassette 1, an inclination angle for the inclined wall 2 in the tip part of the paper P and load applied on the paper P from a paper feeding roller 3 can be set to the optimum values.
