Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new positive electrode active material with high load property, securing the reproducibility of the initial capacity of a nonaqueous lithium secondary battery using LiNiO2as a positive electrode active material, and provide a secondary battery using the same. SOLUTION: The positive electrode active material is composed of powder of LiNiO2containing Mg, or powder of LiNiCoO2expressed by a formula LixMgyNi1-y-zCozOa.
