Consequently, since the sliding part 15 is formed on only the roller 14 of the first kind which is used less frequently, manufacturing cost can be saved. Since the roller 16 of the second kind does not touch the side wall of the guide rail 6, travel resistance of the tread chain 4 is small and operation energy can be reduced. Since width of the roller 14 of the first kind on which load of passengers on the treads 8 directly acts increases and contact area with the tread shaft 9 increases, wear of the tread chain is reduced and maintenance cost is saved.
