TREAD DEVICE FOR PASSENGER CONVEYOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tread device for a passenger conveyer equipped with a roller having suitable performances corresponding to a tread shaft and a link pin composing a tread chain respectively. SOLUTION: A roller 14 of a first kind is retained in a predetermine position in a width direction of a guide rail 6 by a sliding part 15 and a side surface of a roller 16 of a second kind is arranged with keeping clearance to a side wall of the guide rail 6. Consequently, since the sliding part 15 is formed on only the roller 14 of the first kind which is used less frequently, manufacturing cost can be saved. Since the roller 16 of the second kind does not touch the side wall of the guide rail 6, travel resistance of the tread chain 4 is small and operation energy can be reduced. Since width of the roller 14 of the first kind on which load of passengers on the treads 8 directly acts increases and contact area with the tread shaft 9 increases, wear of the tread chain is reduced and maintenance cost is saved.
