Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile communication base station antenna which optimizes the beam width of the antenna elements constituting an adaptive antenna and increases the line capacity of the system as a whole, by evaluating how antenna element directivity affects on W-CDMA uplink line capacity, when the maximum number of accommodated user capable of obtaining a required SIR (Signal to Interference Ratio) of the system is employed, using computer simulation. SOLUTION: The mobile communications base station antenna comprises antenna elements, arranged in a direction which is orthogonal to the main beam radiation direction of each antenna element constituting an antenna array 10, and an adaptive antenna 1 installed in each sector. The antenna element beam width is set to a range of values from 0.53 to 1.0 times the value of 360 degrees divided by the number of sectors. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
