ARRAY ANTENNA COMMUNICATION APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an array antenna communication apparatus for more easily forming nearly equal antenna patterns for transmission and reception. SOLUTION: A communication apparatus 10 includes a two-way vector modulator 22 used in common for transmission and reception, and a non-shared circuit 24 not shared by transmission and reception by each antenna (unit antenna) 12 in an RF stage. The phase characteristic and amplitude characteristic of a transmission system circuit and those of a reception system circuit in each non-shared circuit 24 are adjusted to be in a relation of a multiple of a constant decided among the antennas, and an adaptive processing section 30 applies control over a plurality of the two-way vector modulators 22. That is, by this constitution, paths of signals for the transmission/reception are shared in common to the utmost, and hence adaptive operation for the transmission/reception by using the same parameter is attained, and nearly the same antenna pattern can more easily be obtained for the transmission and reception.
