IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that obtains stable cleaning performance by predicting and deterring chatter vibration and peeling of a cleaning blade of a cleaning device. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with an image carrier 1, a driving means 6 of driving the image carrier 1 to rotate, and the cleaning blade 3 which is pressed against the image carrier 1 to remove residual toner from the surface. Further, provided are a torque detecting means 7 of detecting the driving torque of the image carrier 1 and a means of judging abnormality of the cleaning blade 3 from the detection result of the torque detecting means 7 to avoid the abnormality.
