PRESSURE REDUCING VALVE HAVING WATER STOPPING FUNCTION, AND FIRE HYDRANT BOX USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure reducing valve having a water stopping function which can be used as a fire hydrant valve, and has high safety characteristics. SOLUTION: A valve box body (1) is provided with a spool valve body (10) having opposed primary side pressure receiving surfaces (12a and 14a) for canceling the primary side pressure, and a secondary side pressure receiving surface (14b) which receives the secondary side pressure. The valve body (10) is urged to be opened to a valve seat (5) by a spring (18) which resists the secondary side pressure. An opening/closing handle (20) which can place the valve body (10) under a water stopping state wherein the valve body (10) is set on the valve seat (5) by abutting the valve body (10) and sliding the valve body (10) against the spring (18), and a valve opened state wherein the valve body (10) is separated from the valve seat (5) is provided as a separate body from the valve body (10). The valve body (10) is constituted in a manner to be able to perform a pressure reducing motion at a position away from the opening/closing handle (20) by the application of the secondary side pressure under the valve opened state.
