Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing 1-pentanol by using n-pentane as a raw material and utilizing a biological conversion method and to provide a microorganism having ability to convert n-pentane utilizable to the method to 1-pentanol. SOLUTION: The method for producing 1-pentanol from n-pentane comprises (A) a step for incubating a bacterial strain belonging to the genus Microbacterium or the genus Gordonia and capable of converting n-pentane to 1-pentanol in the presence of n-pentane and (B) a step for collecting 1-pentanol from the incubation liquid obtained in the step (A). For example, a microorganism belonging to the genus Microbacterium such as Microbacterium sp. PN 4 strain (FERP-19197) and a microorganism belonging to the genus Gordonia such as Gordonia sp.
