OPERATING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating device that is suitable when installing under an environment in which humidity is high such that there is possibility that cloudiness may be generated on the outer surface. SOLUTION: This device has a transparent plate 12 housed and arranged at a position retreated from the front face of a case 11 so as to correspond to an opening 11a of the case 11, a frame 13 circumscribing the operation face formed by the transparent plate 12, a ring-shaped printed-circuit board 14 mounted on the frame 13 so that the transparent plate 12 is circumscribed, and a liquid crystal panel unit 15 housed and arranged at the rear of the transparent plate 12 in the case 11. A light emitting diode 16 and a photo transistor 17 arranged opposed to each other, numerous resistors 19 to function as heaters, and a temperature sensor 20 to detect the space temperature in the case 11 are mounted on the printed-circuit board 14, and current supply to the resistors 19 is controlled by a touch panel control part based on the space temperature in the case 11 detected by the temperature sensor 20.
