SEEKING PROCESSING TIME MEASURING DEVICE AND DIGITAL DATA REPRODUCING DEVICE EQUIPPED WITH IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seeking processing time measuring device capable of finding a time required for seeking processing, for lightening the feeling of discomfort of a user in seeking operation. SOLUTION: A key frame interval measuring section 101 measures the maximum value of the number of frames in a key frame interval from the header information of digital data designated by the user 300. A seeking processing time calculation section 102 calculates the theoretical maximum value (the maximum seeking processing time) of the time required for seeking processing by multiplying a decoding processing time for one frame of compressed moving image data set from the viewpoint of system performance with the measured maximum number of frames.
