Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently utilize a glass pane as a strength member for reinforcing the side of a skeleton. SOLUTION: In this glass pane supporting structure wherein both upper and lower ends of the glass pane 6 are supported on the side of the skeleton A in such a manner that a pane surface is positioned along a vertical direction, both the upper and lower ends of the glass pane are supported on the side of the skeleton via a supporting member by fixing the supporting member 9 to the side of the skeleton; and the supporting member 9 is equipped with a compressive force transmission part B which can transmit an external force in the direction of compression from the side of the skeleton to each of both the upper and lower ends, and a tensile force transmission part C which can transmit an external force in a tensile direction from the side of the skeleton to each of both the upper and lower ends.
