Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for heating a material to be heated with an induction-heating with which the material to be heated can be heated with an induction-heating coil having small capacity in little unevenness of the temperature. SOLUTION: In the induction-heating apparatus, in which the plurality of induction-heating coils 2 for heating the material W to be heated are disposed in the longitudinal direction of the material to be heated with a prescribed coil pitch P through rollers 3 for conveying the material to be heated and a furnace body having furnace length longer than the material W to be heated at least by the coil pitch P is formed, the material W to be heated, charged in the above furnace body, repeats the driving for reciprocating in the front and back direction in the furnace body with a driving pattern which starts/accelerates from the stopping state and decelerates/stops after shifting a distance having not shorter than the coil pitch P at a constant speed V0and also, electric power is supplied into the induction-heating coils 2 only in shifting the material W to be heated by the coil pitch P at the constant speed V0.
