IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid making a user unconfortable by preventing degradation in the performance of an image forming apparatus even when conveyance efficiency becomes degraded due to wear of a paper feed/conveyance roller, and to reduce costs needed for the maintenance by correctly informing an apparatus manager of the degree of wear to optimize the frequency of the maintenance. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a conveying means which conveys recording paper along a conveying path; a drive means which drives the conveying means; and a detection means which detects recording paper conveyed by the conveying means. According to the timing of recording paper detection by the detection means, a correction means corrects the driving speed of the drive means in order to make the conveying speed of the recording sheet constant (S103). In addition, a determination means determines the degree of deterioration of the conveying means according to the degree of correction of the driving speed by the correction means (S104, S105).
