TRAVELING PERMISSION/NON-PERMISSION SWITCHING SYSTEM AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traveling permission/non-permission switching system and method for automating management associated with the traveling of a vehicle in order to make it unnecessary to arrange a manager in a parking lot. SOLUTION: A camera 2 and a gate device 4 are connected through first and second network cables L1 and L2 to a vehicle number reading device 3. The camera 2 images the front part of an approaching vehicle S, and transmits the imaged vehicle image to the vehicle number reading device 3. The vehicle number reading device 3 stores the vehicle number of the vehicle whose traveling is permitted, and compares the vehicle number of a number plate read from the transmitted vehicle image with the stored vehicle number. When the both numbers are the same, the vehicle number reading device 3 transmits a traveling permission signal to the gate device 4, and the gate device 4 lifts a gate 4a based on the reception of the traveling permission signal.
