PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an oxide superconductive wire having high mechanical strength, and to provide the oxide superconductive wire. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of an oxide superconductive wire wherein a metal for covering the raw material powder of the oxide superconductor contains silver, and a silver ratio is 2 or lower, comprises a step of manufacturing a multicore wire of the oxide superconductor raw material powder covered by the metal, a step of drawing the multicore wire, and a step of rolling the multicore wire.
