Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long-life sliding bearing with a highly hard cured layer formed inside the surface of a bearing portion thereof for improving wear resistance and seizure preventing performance. SOLUTION: Inside the surface of the bearing portion of the sliding bearing formed of a high-speed steel material, a carbide material and a conductive metal material, the highly hard cured layer is formed by diffusing highly hard components permeating therein so that the surface hardness of the bearing portion is set as a Vickers hardness of 900-2500 HV. A cured coating is further formed on the surface with highly hard components, as required. The formation of the highly hard cured layer is carried out by using an electric discharge machine. The metal material for the sliding bearing and the components constituting an electrode are chemically bonded at a super high temperature generated by a discharging phenomenon to form the highly hard components which are mixed inside the surface of the bearing portion.
