Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operation stability of an assist grip by providing an inexpensive damper having a simple structure without using a viscous agent and by providing stable braking torque from the damper, in the storage type assist grip provided with mount seats 11 and 12 fixed to a vehicle body panel P, a grip body 1 supported pivotally by legs 1a and 1b, and a torsion coil spring 7 for turning the grip body 1 to a storing position from an operating position. SOLUTION: In the damper 24, a recess 28 is formed in a supporting section 26 in the mount seat 12. A thrust member 42 is inserted into the recess 28 un-rotatably and axially movably so that the outer end positioned outside the recess 28 faces one sidewall 2a of a storing section 2 in the leg 1b of the grip body 1. One of the outer end of the thrust member 42 and the sidewall 2a of the storing section 2 on the grip body 2 side is formed with a circumferential groove 47 of which the groove depth changes, and the other is provided with a pin 44 moving in the circumferential groove 47. Braking torque is obtained by axially energizing the thrust member 42 and slidably contacting the bottom surface 47a of the circumferential groove 47 with the pin 44 in a pressure contact state by pivoting the grip body 1.
