Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating device capable of inhibiting generation of coating defect on a film by inhibiting entanglement of a foam into a coating liquid having adjusted coating thickness, and a coating method using it. SOLUTION: The coating device 11 is provided with a coating mechanism 13 for excessively coating the coating liquid 17 against a coating amount after the coating thickness is adjusted; and a coating thickness adjustment mechanism 14 provided at a downstream side of the coating mechanism 13 and adjusting the coating thickness of the coating liquid 17 excessively coated. The coating thickness adjustment mechanism 14 has a bar 22 for adjusting the coating thickness pressed to a surface of a film 16 at a side where the coating liquid 17 is excessively coated. A foam entangling inhibition member 34 for inhibiting entanglement of the foam into the coating liquid 17 is inserted from a downstream side of the bar 22 for adjusting the coating thickness between the bar 22 for adjusting the coating thickness and the film 16.
