DIGITAL CAMERA AND PROCESSING PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for digital cameras which allows distance information related to a subject to be quickly acquired. SOLUTION: In photographing at night, a non-lighted image Ga picked up with flashlight off and a lighted image Gb picked up with flashlight on, which have the same composition, are consecutively acquired by a digital camera. Division of corresponding pixels in images Ga and Gb is performed to generate an image Gc representing the arithmetic result. Arithmetic values of respective pixels in the image Gc are taken as distance information, and weighting factors of WB correction values for long distance (for external light) and WB correction values for short distance (for flashlight) are determined in accordance with distances. WB correction values are adjusted for each pixel on the basis of the weighting factors to subject the image Gb to WB correction. Thus, not only distance information related to the subject is quickly acquired, but also quick and proper WB is performed by utilizing the distance information for WB correction.
