Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wide band variable wavelength light source which can be sufficiently used for a DWDM system and is capable of high speed wavelength switching of the order of ms by using a simple DFB-LD wherein a mass production system can be established and the control mechanism is simple. SOLUTION: The distributed feedback semiconductor laser array is constituted of a plurality of distributed feedback semiconductor lasers under identical temperature control, and an optical multiplexing device which leads the output light from the plurality of lasers to one waveguide. A means for controlling injected current amount of the lasers 21, and a means for measuring the oscillation wavelength are installed.
