Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp, in which the occurrence of leakage is surely prevented, and which has a long life and high reliability. SOLUTION: The discharge lamp comprises an arc tube 4 which has a main tube 2, inside which a pair of electrodes 5 are arranged, and a side tube 3 connecting to the main tube 2. A blocking body 8, to one end of which the electrodes 5 are connected and from the other end of which a metal lead-in wire 9 is routed out, is sealed in the side tube 3; the blocking body 8 has conductivity, and a plurality of sintered compacts 10, 11, 12, 13, each having a different component, are laminated in an almost concentric circular state around the periphery of the metal lead-in wire 9 so as to cover the ends of this metal lead-in wire 9; and the electrodes 5 are connected to the surface of the outermost layer 13 of the blocking body 8 and electrically connected to the metal lead-in wire 9 via the blocking body 8.
