AIR CONDITIONER AND OUTDOOR UNIT OF AIR CONDITIONER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the lowering of the capacity of an air conditioner due to frosting. SOLUTION: This air conditioner comprises an outdoor heat exchanger 5 allowing refrigerant to flow therein, an air blow fan 7 formed of an air blow vane 19 and a motor 21, a control device 23 controlling the rotational speed of the motor 21 to a set rotational speed No, and a current detector 29 detecting the current value I of the motor 21. When the current value I detected by the current detector 29 is increased, the set rotational speed No is increased according to the degree of an increase in the current value I to increase air volume passing through the outdoor heat exchanger 5 so as to promote heat exchange for increasing a heat exchanged amount. As a result, the exchanged heat amount lowered by the covering of a heat transfer surface with frost can be compensated to suppress the lowering of the capacity of the air conditioner 5.
