Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent synthetic leather like material having a natural leather like appearance, and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This synthetic leather like material is a nonwoven fabric sheet consisting of at least one kind of conjugate fiber selected from a sea and island type conjugate synthetic fiber consisting of a sea component and an island component and a split type conjugate fiber consisting of a fiber component and bonding component, and is characterized by having a grain surface skin film consisting of at least 1 kind selected from the sea component and bonding component of the conjugate fibers. Also the method for producing such synthetic leather like material is provided by needle-punching a web consisting of the synthetic fiber to form the non-woven fabric sheet, then processing at least one side of the nonwoven fabric by heating and compressing to form the grain surface skin film consisting of at least one kind selected from the sea component and the bonding component of the conjugate fibers.
