Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of applying the constant and continuous tension and widthwise positioning to a following process with a simple structure not giving damage to the web material after a free tension dancer in the web material. SOLUTION: In this web material positioning and tension applying device, after the free tension dancer, a part of the material is nipped by a plurality of nipping mechanisms, and the continuous tension is applied by operation in the condition that all of the nips are not separated from the material.
