Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hologram type optical information recording and reproducing apparatus having excellent signal/noise ratio (SN ratio) and suitable for making the capacity of information large and an optical system small-sized. SOLUTION: In the hologram type optical information recording and reproducing apparatus, an optical element having a function for restricting an angle of view is arranged on an optical path of information light beam between a spatial light modulator and the optical information recording medium. The irradiation of the optical information recording medium with reflected light, scattered light and diffracted light from the spatial light modulator is prevented by the optical element to improve the signal/noise ratio.
