Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive low surge type electrode for a vacuum valve which is harmless for the environment, and to provide a vacuum valve and a vacuum breaker obtained by using the same. SOLUTION: The low surge type electrode for a vacuum valve comprises an electric contact member consisting of highly conductive metal, active metal, and a refractory component, and an electrode rod. The refractory component in the electric contact member is the oxide of the metal as the component same as the active metal. By making the active metal same as the metal composing the refractory component, oxygen generated by the decomposition of the oxide on current breaking can be adsorbed, and voltage resisting performance after the breaking can be secured.
