PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a printed image of high quality without generating unevenness of gloss by preventing peeling of a recording medium from a surface of a fixing belt due to bias or bowed travelling of the fixing belt to evenly fix the image without generating unevenness of fixing of the recording medium. SOLUTION: A fixing means 5 for an ink jet recording medium for fixing the thermoplastic resin particles of the recording medium 1 by heating and pressurizing the recording medium 1 having the thermoplastic resin particles after performing the recording has a heating roller 51 arranged on a recording medium 1 carry-in side, an outlet roller 53 arranged on a recording medium 1 carry-out side, the fixing belt 54 stretched over the heating roller 51 and the outlet roller 53, a pressurizing roller 55 to be brought in pressure-contact with the heating roller 51, while pinching the fixing belt between them, a bias detecting means 7 for detecting bias of the fixing belt 54, and an outlet roller twisting quantity adjusting means 6 for adjusting the twisting quantity of the outlet roller 53 on the basis of the detection of bias of the fixing belt by the bias detecting means 7.
