Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fixing a light metal foamed body in a hollow structural member in which the light metal foamed body is efficiently fixed inside the structural member when the light metal foamed body is fixed inside the hollow structural member, and high joining strength between the structural member and the light metal foamed body is obtained. SOLUTION: A sheet-like member 3 is brought into contact with light metal in a molten and foamed state on one side of the sheet-like member 3 containing a same material as that of a structural member 1 while processing for improving the adhesion to the molten light metal is applied. A light metal foamed body 2 with the sheet-like member 3 adhered thereto is formed on at least a part of the surface. After the light metal foamed body 2 is arranged inside the structural member 1, the outer side of the structural member 1 is irradiated with a high density energy heat source to weld the structural member 1 to the sheet-like member 3, so that sufficient joining strength between the structural member and the light metal foamed body is obtained.
