DIGITAL CORRELATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a digital correlation computing unit capable of processing at high speed and of preventing increase a circuit scale. SOLUTION: When transmitting signals, there is provided a zone where a pattern comprising complex number series made by sampling a period by 16 is repeated one time or multiple number of times. Although the complex number signal series contains frequency components A0to A15, a correlation level of A1or A15is utilized from these components at a receiving side. Here, the correlation level is calculated only by addition and subtraction. The calculated correlation level becomes maximal or minimal, at any position in the zone containing the pattern. The position is detected, and an initiating position of the pattern is presumed on the basis of the detected position.
