PRODUCTION METHOD FOR OMEGA-BENZYL ESTER OF AMINODICARBOXYLIC ACID, PRODUCTION METHOD FOR ALKANE SULFONATE OF THE ESTER, AND ALKANE SULFONATE OBTAINED THEREBY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method for both ω-benzyl ester of an aminodicarboxylic acid and an alkane sulfonate of the ester, and to provide the new alkane sulfonate. SOLUTION: The production method comprises reacting the aminodicarboxylic acid with a benzyl alcohol derivative of formula 1 (wherein substituent R1is H, a 1-4C alkyl, a 1-4C alkoxy or a halogen; and (n) is 1, 2 or 3) in the presence of the alkane sulfonic acid in an amount of at least 1 mol per 1 mol of aminodicarboxylic acid (if needed, in the additional presence of a solvent). By the above method, ω-benzyl ester of aminodicarboxylic acid and the alkane sulfonate which is an intermediate of the ester can be obtained in sufficiently high yields and high purities.
