PORTABLE TELEPHONE AND METHOD FOR COPING WITH NUISANCE CALL THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone in which a portable telephone user does not feel uncomfortable due to the reception of one ring-off call without frequently updating the registration of a telephone number or without refusing necessary calls, or an unreasonable fee is billed due to the erroneous communication to a caller to cause the user not to suffer a large damage. SOLUTION: A counter 18 counts the number of calls according to a call signal at the call receiving time, and a judging unit 10a judges, for example, whether the number of the calls is one or less or not. If the number of the calls is one or less, an incoming sound mute circuit 19 is operated during its period so that the call sound may not be generated.
