PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a connecting point of a stream zone or an optional zone to be given a special reproduction effect when AV streams stored in a record medium are reproduced. SOLUTION: On the basis of information designated by a user through a UI unit 1002, a system control unit 1003 generates text information for giving a special reproduction effect. The text information is set in a text information area in AV stream management information and recorded in a DVD-RAM 1010 by a drive unit 1009. When reproduction is carried out, the AV stream management information is read out to refer its inner text information area. When the special reproduction effect is designated, the system control unit 1003 instructs an effect giving unit 1011 to give an effect corresponding to the designated information. The effect giving unit 1011 gives the effect to audiovisual information in accordance with the instruction and outputs the audiovisual information given the effect, whereby the AV streams given the special reproduction effect desired by a user are outputted.
