ELECTRIC CONNECTOR HAVING LATCHING MEANS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new and improved latching mechanism for an electric connector possible to be fitted into a complementary connecting device in fitting direction. SOLUTION: The electric connector for fitting in the complementary connecting device in the fitting direction is provided. A plurality of electroconductive terminals are mounted on a non-conductive housing. This housing has a channel extending in approximately parallel in the fitting direction, and an opening to the channel exists in the forward fitting end of the housing. A flexible latch arm is arranged at the channel, its free end has a latch plate for latch-engaging with a suitable latch of the complementary connecting device inserted into the opening of the channel. The latch arm and the latch plate are approximately completely arranged in the boundary of the channel. The latch plate is in a plate face in approximately parallel in the fitting direction, and has the side edge shut up with both side walls of the housing. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
