Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen generating apparatus to be used for a fuel cell, in particular, to provide a method for removing CO to oxidize CO in a reformed gas and to improve the CO removal rate, and to provide a CO remover and a hydrogen generating apparatus. SOLUTION: The reformed gas with addition of air is introduced into a plurality of catalyst layers 46 to 49 packed with a selective oxidation catalyst so as to oxidize CO. Heat exchangers 54 to 56 to cool the reforming gas are disposed between the catalyst layers 46 to 49 and the flow rate of the coolant passing through each heat exchanger is controlled in accordance with a decrease in CO concentration in each catalyst layer 46 to 49 so as to keep the active temperature range of each catalyst layer in accordance with the CO concentration to improve the removal rate of CO.
