LEAKAGE DETECTING DEVICE AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to detect a leakage of a medical fluid which is injected through an injection needle into a blood vessel of the surface of the human body favorably with a simple structure. SOLUTION: The leakage detecting device is configured in such a way that an image imaging means 123 images the surface of a human body in which the needle is inserted and an image recognizing means 141 recognizes a surface profile from the image. When a displacement detecting means 142 detects that the deformation of the surface profile exceeds a permitted limit, an alarm outputting means 143 outputs an alarm. Thereby, the leakage of the medical fluid is detected by making use of that the surface of the human body is expanded by the medical fluid when the needle falls off from the blood vessel so that a decline of detecting accuracy by a disturbance becomes minimum and the necessary structure for detection becomes simple.
