Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To distribute load among web servers without using a load balancer in a web client/server system. SOLUTION: In a load distribution method, the load is distributed among web servers 13 in a web client/server system which accept requests from a plurality of client computers 10 through a public line 15 and perform tasks in response to the requests and return performance results to client computers 10. Concretely, a preliminarily determined precedence data table is stored in each of web servers 13, and it is recognized whether each web server is operating or stops. When a request is issued from a client computer 10, the request is assigned to a web server 13 having the highest precedence written in the precedence data table out of web servers 13 being operating.
