SOLUTION: An elevator device comprises a car call device 25 provided on a landing floor 20, a car 2 operated along a hoistway 1, a hoisting machine 5 to drive the car 2, and a control device 16 provided on a top portion of the hoistway 1 to control the operation of the car 2. The control device 16 is provided on the landing floor 20, and a maintenance device 17 to instruct the car 2 to be moved to the position for maintenance and inspection while a maintenance person is in the car 2 when the control device 16 is inspected is provided on the landing floor 20.
