IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus free from the occurrence of jamming even in the case of feeding a short transfer material such as an A5-sized material and a short thick transfer material such as a postal card, and also, free from the occurrence of defective carrying and image defect such as the shrinkage of the image even in the case of feeding other transfer material. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with a heat roller, and a paper ejection roller wherein a nip part is formed while bringing a fixed sheet into press contact with the outer peripheral surface of the heat roller and a toner image is fixed while making the transfer material and the toner image pass through the nip part, then, the fixed transfer material is separated from the fixing roller, and then, the separated transfer material is ejected by a paper ejection roller. And, the image forming apparatus is constituted so that the transfer material is always held by the nip formed by a contact transfer means and an image carrier when the leading end of the transfer material in carrying reaches the paper ejection roller.
