Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating resin composition without generating a scratch or scrape on the surface of a hardened film irrespective to curing temperatures and rubbing conditions, obtaining a good alignment function and a high picture quality in a liquid crystal display device, a liquid crystal-alignment layer, a liquid crystal-nipping substrate and the liquid crystal-display device. SOLUTION: This coating resin composition is characterized by containing a polyimide having a recurring unit expressed by general formula (I) (wherein, W is a tetravalent organic group; and R is divalent organic group) and using an organic material expressed by general formula (II) for at least a part of the R of the polyimide or its precursor, and at least in part an organic silane compound expressed by general formula (III) [wherein, (a) is mercapto or urea group; (b) is a divalent organic group; R2, R3 are each independently a hydrocarbon group; and (m) is 0-3 integer], and the liquid crystal-alignment layer, the liquid crystal-nipping substrate and the liquid crystal-display device are also provided.
